• Notes

  Rem Jansen Van Der Beeck was a blacksmith. He emigrated from Ieveren in the Netherlands and was in New Amsterdam from 1643 - 1651; in Beverwyck (Albany), 1655 - 1660, at the Waleboght in which place he owned several houses and lots. In 1663 he was complained of by Adriaen Hegeman for carrying off a ploughshare. Was ordered by the court to replace it in the spot where he found it.
